MUNCIE, Ind. \u2014<\/span> <\/span>Muncie Redevelopment Commission President Isaac Miller slammed his gavel several times in response to a written statement being read by commissioner Andrew Dale on SB 1<\/span> <\/a>and the activities of the commission. Miller, the youngest member of the MRC, then adjourned the meeting without a vote from the present members and continued an altercation with Dale with standing from his seat. <\/span>Dale’s written statement dealt with his hopes for the MRC to create a strategic plan to handle the upcoming decrease in revenue as a result of the recently passed bill in Indiana.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dale was one of the two appointments made by city council. Miller’s one of three appointments by Mayor Ridenour, along with its Director Jeff Howe, who Ridenour put in the position at the beginning of 2024. Dale has continued to ask for better minutes of meetings and has been known to challenge the Ridenour administration and MRC on various issues. When asking Jeff Howe how he was compensated for the position by Ridenour, an altercation started after Howe refused to answer. In December, City Controller Craig Wright was unable to provide details of a $21,000 paving contract being asked for approval by the commission, leading Dale to ask to amend the claim to be passed without the item. The item in question was later paid for without going through the MRC.<\/span><\/p>\n

Miller himself on one occasion has used time in an MRC meeting to bring up <\/span>national politics, by speaking last summer about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump in <\/span>Pennsylvania<\/span>. He has used time to <\/span>criticize members of city council for not inviting him to speak on behalf of the MRC for council meetings, and instead choosing their appointees, Dale and Zane Bishop, to give reports.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
