MUNCIE, Ind. — Students of Ball State University’s JOUR302, or People and Cultures in
The Media, course announce they will be partnering with non-profit organization Forward
Visions to host a non-partisan candidate forum.
This forum is focused on familiarizing Delaware County and Muncie residents with the
candidates for the upcoming election. We are excited and honored to showcase these
candidates and get Delaware County and Muncie residents to participate in the upcoming
elections.
Forward Visions’ Project 50 organized the forum as part of its ongoing mission to
increase civic engagement and create space for informed community dialogue.
Project 50 is a non-partisan voter education effort to educate residents about their rights
to vote and increase voter turnout during elections. This project is a collaboration
between Forward Visions and Ball State University’s student philanthropy initiative,
through which $2,500 was awarded as a grant to the non-profit organization.
The forum will follow a structured format that includes candidate introductions,
moderated questions and time for audience-submitted questions. Attendees are
encouraged to arrive early, as seating may be limited.
Community members, local organizations and media outlets are invited to attend and
cover the event.
The forum will be held Saturday, April 11th, at Cornerstone Center of The Arts in the
Legacy Room, located at 520 E. Main Street, Muncie, IN. The forum will run from 12 PM – 3 PM and is free and open to the public. Food and refreshments will be served.
