Dan Ridenour on Thursday made one last reorganization of the Muncie Redevelopment Commission, when Jeff Howe switched from holding a position as President now to Director. Isaac Miller, who was supposed to be leaving the commission after his term expired, has now been appointed by Ridenour and voted president by commission members. Ridenour after swearing in Miller, Shareen Wagley, and Steve Prybylla, stayed throughout most of the meeting, but left before public comments. This all comes after city council made two appointments: Zane Bishop and Andrew Dale. Republican members of the council voted for Isaac Miller to be added back to the commission, and evidently Miller is popular in the local party.
Isaac Miller previously tried running for city council, however due to paperwork being filed incorrectly he was unable to run. Paperwork inconsistencies when local candidates run is usually minor, however him and the local GOP didn’t push against his disqualification because they were simultaneously happy that Troy Ingram was pushed out of the race for his filing errors. If party members had tried helping Miller, Ingram would also be able to be put back in the race. This editor believes the appointment of Miller could likely have been done because of the aforementioned sad moment in his political career.
